This surgery usually involves the reshaping of the cornea which is the transparent layer covering the front of the eye. This is done using a special laser and corrects short sight, long sight and astigmatism, too.
Prior to treatment, you will receive a detailed and comprehensive eye exam to determine the exact nature of the treatment needed and discuss different options. This is the time to ask all of your questions and have everything clear before you go ahead and do the surgery.
LASIK treatment takes about ten minutes per eye. No bleeding occurs, no stitches are needed and special dark glasses are placed which you can comfortably see through. Normal vision returns in about 24 hours.
