Labiaplasty is a procedure performed by a plastic surgeon to reshape or reduce the size of the labia minora for improved aesthetics, function, or pure symmetry. The goal of the surgery is to create natural and cutely contoured labia minora that fold invisibly within the labia majora (the vulva).

A labiaplasty can reduce the tugging and twisting of loose labia tissue and thereby prevent patients from experiencing pain during activities like intercourse or riding a bike. Labiaplasty Treatment

The sterile surgery normally begins with an oral sedative and the use of general anesthesia or a local anesthetic. Recovery 

The labiaplasty procedure is an outpatient procedure that allows patients to return home the very same day. You may choose to use cold compresses during the first week. After 4-weeks, patients can return to their regular activities.

The only caution that may be a cause for concern is when women demand aggressive reductions that lead to dryness and discomfort. For this reason, the specialist generally advises patients to reduce only the appropriate volume of tissue. This achieves the natural look and symmetry desired.

It is easier to request revisions for further reductions than it is to reconstruct over-reduced labia. Most women who undergo a single labiaplasty procedure are pleased with the results.
