Welcome to my website! This is a site that I hope you find useful and I am excited to share it with you.

My name is Lloyd Hannis and I am from the UK. I first came to Peru in 2004 to travel, learn Spanish and work temporarily as a volunteer. I loved the whole experience and little did I know that I would still be here some 15 years on! I found that Peru is a wonderful country. Great food. Beautiful people. Mind-blowing history. And lower-cost medical treatments.

So, let me tell you what SurgeryinPeru is all about.

Having worked for more than ten years with our dentist in marketing and web design, I had a lot of contact with foreigners in Lima over this period. Those people would visit the dental practice for lower cost, high-quality dental treatments. Interestingly, many of our patients realized that medical treatments in Lima were reasonably priced and would ask us for recommendations of other English-speaking doctors in Lima.

In particular, this mostly included Plastic Surgery, Dentistry, Weight Loss, Dermatology, Chiropractic, and Laser Eye Treatments, too.

It soon occurred to me that it would be useful to provide a website that would help our English speaking community in Lima connect with doctors who spoke good English. After all, medical appointments in a foreign language can be confusing and overwhelming, to say the least!

Over the years, and through my line of work, I have been fortunate to meet and get to know many doctors. Therefore, I chose the doctors I know and trust the most to be a part of this site. Not only that, but it was extremely important for me to consider their level of English, technology, location, experience, qualifications and the all-important likeability factor, too 🙂

Nowadays, SurgeryinPeru is a site designed to connect people with some of the best doctors and clinics in Lima. Skilled doctors, no waiting lists and lower costs make it all worthwhile.

I have now been working in this field for more than ten years and have a lot of experience helping visitors and expats in Lima. I provide good orientation and correct information. I guide them through the whole process and most importantly, taking care of all the little details, making the whole experience as pleasant and as easy as possible.
