Latin America’s first molecular biology laboratory is established at Cayetano Heredia University in Peru

Thanks to the University of California, Peru’s Cayetano Heredia University has been equipped with Latin America’s first molecular biology laboratory.
The lab includes high-tech optical tweezers which use light to manipulate microscopic objects as small as a single atom. The radiation pressure from a focused laser beam is able to trap small particles. This will enable doctors to find treatments for complex health problems such as multi-drug-resistant TB. Continuar…
