The Peruvian Medical Federation investigates the safety of Herbalife Products
Wellington Chumbe, a Peruvian government official seems to be erring towards a ban of all Herbalife products in Peru. From the Medical Federation in Lima, Chumbe stated that the investigation into Herbalife has recently intensified.
Herbalife distributors heartily endorse the safety and effectiveness of Herbalife products. Typical products include nutritional shake mixes, multivitamin complexes and cell activators. Herbalife formulas can apparently be used to satisfy the appetite, manage weight and boost the metabolism.
However, professional nutritionist Milagros Haburto is not convinced. Haburto does not recommend the products and stated that Herbalife tells users to “substitute two daily meals with a delicious shake and have a well-balanced meal. This goes against any norm of nutrition when we are talking about a healthy diet.”
“My work as a nutritionist is to teach people to eat and enjoy the foods/nutrients that we can find in nature and no shake would or should replace nutritional education.”
Spain has also issued a worldwide alert concerning Herbalife products.
